THE SELF TAPE
The Self Tape drop-in session uses current scripts from a variety of TV shows and feature films so you can continue building a well-rounded mastery of screen acting. In these sessions Professional actors are encouraged to bring in past or upcoming audition materials to further develop their approach to on-camera technique. Break bad habits and learn to refine your personal process!
MOCK SCREEN AUDITIONS
Perfect the art of auditioning for screen with this mock-casting drop-in session. Battle those nerves and sharpen your ability to take direction.
SCREEN GENRE SPECIFICS
Further develop your self-tape skills by learning to apply the correct approach to the specific material. Do all your auditions and characters feel the same? Do you find you’re always second or third choice? You’re lacking specificity. This drop-in teaches you the techniques to deliver captivating performances aligned to the tone, theme, and rhythm of genre-specific screen sides. Don’t bring the wrong audition to the right project!
PHYSICAL CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT on camera
Learn to find the truth in the text, bring yourself to the character, and physically embody a unique character on short notice. This class focuses on grounding your characters and having an instant physical ‘drop-in’ to get into the role right before ‘action’. So you can hit the mark and live truthfully in the moment. If you don’t do the prep work and bring the character to life – someone else will!
MEISNER FOR SCREEN
Prepare to see magic on camera as we take the powerful Meisner Technique, created by Stanford Meisner which focuses on external sources for inspiration, with actors reacting to their fellow performers and their behaviour, and learn how to use it on camera. Much of Meisner Acting is based around improvisation, enabling an actor to be spontaneous and respond to live moments as well as rehearsed situations.
